At Springboard South on May 5, Travis will be followed on the schedule by pop/dance artist Jacinta, an Aussie now based in Houston http://wegetmusic.com/artist/jacinta so this would be a good chance to catch a couple of Aussie acts. The festival is at City Center, and is free.

Also, a heads-up as we move into summer:

June 8 – Folk-popsters Husky http://www.huskysongs.com/ will be playing at Fitzgerald’s, supporting The Head And The Heart

July 12 – Brisbane 2-piece punk band DZ Deathrays http://www.dzdeathrays.com/ at Fitzgerald’s

Royal Caribbean plans to send three of its 22 ships to Australia and New Zealand for the winter of 2013-14.

The line on Wednesday announced that the 3,114-passenger Voyager of the Seas, 2,139-passenger Radiance of the Seas and 1,998-passenger Rhapsody of the Seas would return to the region to operate 55 sailings between September 2013 and April 2014.

The vessels already are scheduled to sail in the region this coming winter.

The newly announced voyages collectively will include stops at 56 South Pacific ports, and the company also announced plans for several “cruisetours” in the region that combine a cruise with a pre- and post-cruise land tour to such destinations as Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
